Islands to Visit

Skiathos

Skiathos

The most popular island in the Sporades group, attracting thousands of visitors every summer! Skiathos has large, beautiful beaches, some of which are Koukounaries, Babanistas and Lalaria with its sea caves. The island's waters are a diver's dream, while Skiathos' lush countryside offers great opportunities for hiking! Don't miss the chance to visit its magnificent Old Port near the picturesque Bourtzi, which was the backdrop for the scene in the film Mamma Mia starring Meryl Streep! And for nightlife lovers, there are plenty of bars and clubs to suit all tastes!

Skopelos

Situated between Skiathos and Alonissos, the island of Skopelos is ideal for families and couples. The island boasts lush green landscapes and crystal-clear beaches. Chora and Glossa are the main traditional villages on the island, offering breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea. The church of Agios Ioannis, one of the filming locations for the Hollywood movie Mamma Mia, is a great place to visit, sitting atop a rock. Cape Amarandos, with its crystal-clear waters and the famous Agnontas beach, is a must for pure relaxation in the sunshine!

Alonissos

Alonissos

Alonissos can be reached by boat from the port of Agios Konstantinos or Volos. Take a stroll through Patitiri, the island's town of traditional houses with terracotta roofs and blue-painted shutters and balconies, or visit the old town (Chora) and admire the natural surroundings. From the port, visitors can hire excursion boats and enjoy a visit to the blue grotto and the marine park, home to the Monachus Mediterranean monk seal! Alonissos has emerald beaches with sparkling waters and breathtaking natural beauty! Beaches not to be missed include Chrissi Milia, Leftos Gialos and Kokkinokastro, all with calm waters and surrounded by a magnificent green landscape!

Skyros

The island of Skyros is the ideal destination for relaxation! The main village is Chora. Molos is one of the most popular beaches on the island. There are a few other beautiful beaches such as Atsitsa, Agios Phocas (difficult access if windy) and Kalamitsa Bay. Skyros is also chosen for couple and family holidays, as it is fairly unspoilt with picturesque natural views. The island is also famous for the Skyrian horses, one of the rarest and oldest breeds of horse, which you can see on the various farms. Fill your day with scuba diving, hiking and in the evening, enjoy the spectacular sunset at Ktima Atsitsa.

Skyros
Kyra Panaghia

Kyra Panaghia

Kyra Panaghia is one of Greece's most beautiful and unspoilt islands. Uninhabited and protected, it is home to a thousand-year-old Byzantine monastery and deserted beaches of rare beauty. Its crystal-clear waters and secluded coves make it an exceptional anchorage, far from the hustle and bustle of tourism. Dolphins are common and the seabed is exceptional for diving. A stopover favoured only by sailors - one of the best-kept secrets of the Sporades.

Itineraries

The island of Skopelos is one of the most beautiful in Greece: not to be missed! Visit the Chora (the island's capital) of Skopelos and Skyros, and the bays of Panormos, Elios (klima), Agios Petros and Planitis a Kyra Panaghia.

Wind & Sailing Conditions

In summer, the NNE Meltem strengthens to the west of the islands and weakens near the Turkish coast, where it follows thermal variations. Thundershowers are possible on calm days. In spring, banks of mist can appear in a southerly wind.
